i would venture to say that is a good price.... however, I would strongly suggest you check www.resellerratings.com to check opinions of the website. they may be gray market sellers, or bait and switch. good luck

thank you Booth22 you were wright . its a bait and switch outfit
they have many post about that
thank you !

Try dell. I got an awesome deal on my A620 from them at the beginning of Dec. Often they have coupons and rebates. Mine was 270 shipped.

I second that... keep an eye on Dell and their coupons. I got my A620 for 275 shipped. But if you are not in the mode to wait - anything under $350 would be a "descent" price.

Thank you all . thats good info you all gave me /
i just wonder how the a610 will do under water
compared to the a620
this camera will be mostly for diving
thanks again all

Tha A610 and A620 are essentially the same camera to the exception of the CCD sensor. As said before, the A610 has 2 MP less than the A620. If I'm not mistaken, the lens is the exact same one in both cases. Hence, you should expect the same behaviour camera, obviously to the exception of resolution. The A620 thus has one extra resolution mode for the images (3072x2304 for fixed images. Video resolution is the same). The A610 has a higher rate of images when taking images in sequence (2.4 images per second). This is not video speed, but the speed at which the camera can take individual fixed images sequentially.

They use the same waterproof case, so operation is the same.

They also look almost identical

Ikelite has the housing for the A610/620 finally listed on thier website. If you never go deeper than 130', the Canon is ok. I have the Canon housing for my A70 - I hate the way Canon designed the o-ring system, but that might just be me.
So you at least have a choice in housings. My next camera will be another Canon something in an Ikelite housing though.

What don't you like about Canon O-rings Tom?
Just curious.
