Hello all,

I have a Sandisk Ultra II 2gig card and recently recorded some videos. One of them is almost a gig in size. I cannot get them to download to my pc. I have tried copying and pasting from my camera in "My Computer" and also tried the Adobe Photo Downloader.....it just stalls. When I try to use the "Scanner and Camera" wizard the videos that are 500 megs move over to the PC fine....the 1 gig video fails and the message log says "not enough storage is available to complete this operation". The hard drive has 50 gigs free and I have 512 megs of ram.......The videos work fine in the camera. Any ideas? I am not using a card reader (don't have one) Just the USB cable from the camera directly into my pc. I have tried this now on 2 different PC's with the same result. I even defragged one to see if it would help....no dice!

Thanks for any help!

I'd say try it with a card reader. They're cheap. I've never had a problem, although my videos tend to be in smaller snips (I take video on the canon S1). The NTSC/FAT32 limitations only come into play for larger files (4g?) I think. Sounds to my naive and unknowledgable self like a software issue with your camera.

I'd say try the card reader as well. What OS is your computer? If older, (like Win98 instead of Win2k or XP) that could also be a problem.

Thanks for the tips guys. I've tried it on 3 computers all running win XP. (2 of them are brand new here at work)

THanks to Jamdiver, I have confirmed this problem to be beyond just my configuration. (he had the same thing) Seems odd that you NEED a card reader to transfer lager vids....I'm going to email Canon and see what they say.

Thanks again!

Greg
