Hi guys,
I'm looking to buy a really inexpensive setup for my first steps into underwater photography.

I see the A480 for 80$ and Fantasea housing for 170$. I also understand that the Fantasea housings have a good reputation for metal buttons and quality housings.

Anyone know or tried this combination ?

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat... I have the camera but no housing. I'm wondering if it's a worthwhile investment to cheap, entry level start. If you hear anything please let me know.

I bought the housing today... I'll be in FL towards the end of the month. I'll let you know how it goes.

@njedrn, thanks.

I also want to point out that you can flash the canon A480 with a firmware that allows RAW shooting, etc. - A480 - CHDK Wiki The flashing is non-destructive, which means you should be able to go back to your original firmware with no problems.

However, the new firmware is still in beta, so use at your own risk ( I would have.. :D )

BTW, which housing did you get ?

If you set custom white balance, the video will look a lot less green. For best results, you will need to reset the white balance whenever you change depth by a few feet.
