The Sanyo Eneloop batteries, are those the same as the "Precharged" 2000mah Duracells that are new on the market? I bought some and I think that they are. Bought them for my Canon 570IS and Inon D2000 strobe. Any comments on these batteries?

Once or twice, without recharging, the camera has come up showing a weak battery. Cycling the power cleared the warning. I wish rechargeable cells had a nominal voltage a bit higher or they would set the warning trip a little lower on these cameras. I had thought to run lithiums in the D2000 with my little Oly but now that I have this battery muncher here (the Canon) I thought rechargeables were in order.

I did some pool work with the Oly and the Canon and the Oly was easier to use since it was truely point and shoot but swapping the D2000 to the Canon resulted in the opportunity to use full manual which the Oly does not have. I kinda like this little camera. Shall soon see for real.

you probably will......let us see your results.......

I've used Eneloops in A620 and never had any problems. When I recently sold it I switch the Eneloops over to my Speedlite 580EXII that accompanies my 40D. In my experience these batteries just last and last.

Does anyone ever use a real light meter like a Sekonic Marine? I am thinking to design and build a mount to hold mine to the right of the Canon w/Inon tray. This way, you don't have to do the half shutter push to get expousre info. Just set using the push buttons (have they ever heard of knobs) and then punch the shutter button. The needle on the Sekonic Marine is so much easier to read. Just a thought, yeah, about a month and I start diving again though this is a busy year ahead with many things to do other than scuba dive, lol.

I am thinking these Duracell Precharged are the same as the Sanyo Eneloops.

Well, perhaps if I read your question correctly. I did a little research before I bought my Eneloops and at the time there were only three companies manufacturing pre-charged nimh batteries, Sanyo, Panasonic, and Yuasa-Delta. That was probably 6 months ago. I do know that regular Duracell nimh are rebranded batteries made by another manufacturer, so I'd bet the new pre-charged are rebranded as well.

Are the Duracells made in Japan? Most Sanyo cells are made in Japan while Yuasa-Delta are from China. Not sure about Panasonic.

Edit: I'm not sure if this helps, but Sanyo is one of the major suppliers of regular nimh cells to Energizer. I suppose Sanyo could sell to both Duracell and Energizer but maybe not.

JFYI, these precharged 2000 mah Duracells are part number HR6/DX1500 and are made in Japan. They are claimed to retain power for up to a year and are said to be ideal for high drain devices. Like I said and JFYI, I believe these are either the same or an equivilent unless you guys know otherwise? Hope this is helpful.
