looking at buying the canon 100mm usm lens is the auto only ike port number:-5505.45 i want to make sure that i get the right one,any info much appreciated

Yes, the standard flat port for both older and newer Canon 100mm USM Macro lenses is #5505.45. You will be required to use auto focus with this lens and port combination.

i am looking at using the canon 500d diopter that fits on the end of the lens is there a standard auto port that can be used for the lens with and without the diopter and not affect optical quality i would like to keep it simple and not go down the modular road,any info would be appreciated

You will have to measure the lens and diopter combination and check against the specifications on the following webpage to ensure that the port is long enough to accommodate it:
Standard SLR Housing Ports

Unlike dome ports, flat ports can be a little too long without having a negative impact on optical quality. So a port long enough to be used with the diopter should still be fine when you're not using it.
