Sounds like you wouldn't be happy with that 1-watt. FWIW, I think the cheapest "real" canister light I have seen is this one:

$499, and it includes the battery charger. It is a 10watt HID with non-focusable lighthead.
What ever you do, don't borrow or listen to anyone who has a can light, or you will find yourself convinced that you have to have one ASAP :)

That is an awsome price for what is essentially a Salvo light. Grab it fast!!!
