I recently picked up a new Dive Rite H10 canister light. While I am clear on the mounting on my BP Harness, I have question how to "store" the light head/handle when I am not using it during a dive.

How/where should the light head be clipped off? A photo would be a very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I 'usually' clip it off to my right shoulder d-ring. Cord secured on canister itself.

Here's the DIR answer, if that matters:

Light head stowage and clip placement
During certain diving scenarios it becomes desirable to clip the light head such that the
beam points down away from a team member’s eyes. In order to facilitate this need while
reducing the complexity of multiple clips GUE procedures utilize the placement of a
permanent clip on the handle of the light head and a loop at the rear of the light head. The
rear loop allows the diver to temporarily clip a double end clip to the beck of the light
head. The permanent placement of clip at the handle ensures that a clip is available at the
most important location and is easily used should it be necessary to stow the light
permanently in the event of a failure or when the light is no longer needed. This clip is
placed on the right side where the diver can hold it with the thumb of their left hand.
Lights that are no longer in use should be stowed with the light cord tucked under the
long hose.

It can be found in the Nov 2006 procedure changes:

Since you asked for a photo:

is tight because his has a big head

Kidsdream, there are two days of clipping off a lighthead, as the quotation above states. You butt-clip the light when you are doing something which requires two hands (eg. shooting a bag) but expect to reuse the light. It's then still on, and shines directly downward, so you put your hands under it if need be, and it won't blind your buddies.

When you are done with the light, it is clipped off by the permanent clip on the handle. It is then off, and the cord tucked. If you clip off by the handle clip with the light on, it will shine in your eyes and the eyes of other people as it moves around.
