Hi everyone - first time poster here. We are planning a large vacation with my family (parents and small child included) to Cancun. We'd like to find a nice resort that is great for those that want to lounge around, as well as have amenities for diving (either locally or excursions - preferably included in the price). We were looking at the Palace Resorts, but I haven't found much that includes diving. Any suggestions or experiences? Thanks!!!

Cool, hope you enjoy the trip! I don't know of any resorts that offer diving, though pretty much all of them will have vendor offices/stands/kiosks on site that will sell all sorts of water sports. To my knowledge, Solo Buceo is the only Dive Op actually operating out of a resort -- Dreams Hotel. There may be others in smaller hotels, I just don't know which.

I think your best bet is to work with a Dive Op directly. Depending on where you are staying in the Hotel Zone, you may be able to walk to their shops, or any bus or taxi will take you there. If you are planning an excursion to dive cenotes, Cozumel, or elsewhere in Riviera Maya, the dive op should be able to arrange pickup for you at your hotel.

Palace Resorts is one of the top chains in the area. Note that one of their properties (I think Cancun Palace) is in the process of rebranding to a Hard Rock hotel.
