I've dove with Ben and the folks down there since they started the operation. Plus, a year or so before he started up the business. You show up as a customer and leave as a friend.
They hit several reefs off the coast. Best place has been Manchones Reef, just off Isla Mujeres. We've also hit Punta Negra and the Horseshoe. The boat can hold twelve divers, but I've never been on the boat with more than six or seven. They keep the numbers small and there is Ben with a dive master with the group in the water. Bottom times were dive your computer. They realize that everyone has different SAC rates, so the hoovers surface when they've blown through their tank, and others stay on the bottom for an hour.
Plenty of marine life. Lots of cudas, parrot fish, angel fish and occasional moray. On the night dives, sometimes a shark, octopus, squid (cuttle fish), lobsters, etc. Also, they usually run into a bunch of eagle rays down on the wreck. They run a very nice whale shark trip, as well. That is usually from May until August.
Coordinate with him as far as what you want for a dive itinary and they'll make it happen.
Just finished booking my flight for the first week of Sept. Ben has certified me, my son and daughter. I had to track him down for training my kids, because I trust his abilities. I would highly recommend the operation. Drop him a line, you will be glad you did.
