Hi i've almost decided to buy the aeris atmos Pro reg ( the one for 199 on subatoys)

can anyone offer me some advice whether this is a good buy or not.. also can anyone offer any alternatives ( btw something available on scubatoys).. I really need sum advice here.. Thanks

wow.

Scubatoys has a great reputation. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.

personally, I would get a Scubapro. ...because "deep down you want the best" Just kidding, but for a little more, can't you get a G250?

Easy to service, parts easy to get....

If I am wrong, somebody set me straight.

First off you can't go wrong with Scuba Toys. Second, what type of diving do you think you'll do in the future? Everyone will have their favorate equipment recomendation. Mine is Oceanic - but, who cares. It's all good "stuff" some better, some not so good. The trouble is the not so good is usually outgrown and you find yourself wanting to replace it in a few years as your diving progresses. When I started diving I bought the Delta 3 reg and it has served me well over the years (in fact, it is still in use as an octo on my primary - 14 years later!). My advice, buy the best that you can afford now, you'll appriciate it later.

well i'm looking just for tropical warm water... am only 16 and want to buy all my gear with MY OWN money so for now the most i'm looking to spend on my reg setup is about 320.. with that I can get the dacor viper, atmos pro and gauges from scubatoys.... I just want any advice on whether this is a good buy

Not sure about where you live, and not sure about your definition of "a little more" but where I live and in the Seattle area, a new G250 with any kind of 1st stage deemed "worthy enough" to have a G250 coupled to it is about 3 times what the OP quoted. Most of what the shops in Seattle carried seemed to be at or slightly above MSRP on most items.

Scubatoys has a limited selection of Scubapro from when they were a dealer, not sure if they have G250's. Scubapro doesn't allow online-sales through their authorized dealers in the US (I couldn't even get a price over the phone) , but seeing as the OP is out of country, ordering one out of Europe may be an option.

A couple of the reg techs I spoke with were less then impressed with the "new" G250, as opposed to the "old" G250, but I think most of their concerns related to cold water diving. One tech told me that Scubapro was going to come out with a "new new" G250, which was the old G250 in a new wrapper. I wouldn't take that to the bank, but was told it by 2 different sources. Maybe a mod could move this to the reg forum and some of the reg gurus on the board could address that more in depth.

I just purchased that reg and will be taking it out this weekend to break it in. Oceanic and Aeris are the same company. Oceanic is sold to larger volume dealers and Aeris to smaller volume shops.

The Atmos Pro is being closed out to make way for the new dry valve technologhy. Scuba Toys and other places were selling this same reg in the $400 range just a few months ago.

It is a great deal. Several of the tech guys in this area use the Atmos Pro and have taken it very deep and it has done well for them.

Scuba Toys is an authorized dealer and you will get full factory warranty.

The Atmos 2 computer is also a great deal whether you go wrist on or console.

Oh, I stand corrected on the G250 price.

I got a key-man from a friend at a place that has since lost their dealership for undercutting and selling below MSR, now that I think about it.

So...you are 16 and want to use your own money? Good job, go for it...you picked a good source too.

If you have a source then let me know. Even Leisure Pro is twice the price on a G-250 than what the OP is looking at.
