My buddy light (back up / wifie 18w) wouldn't stay on this weekend.

I got home and thought it might be the battery - as I've had to re-solder the green wire a number of times. I checked it out, and its fine.

Its the cord, at the gland where it enters the lid. Move the cord a bit, it strikes and lights. Move it back, and it cuts out. Of course I've now moved it around to the place where it won't strike at all... probably better than the "on-off-on-off" it was doing...

This is a Halcyon 18 W light - one of the older ones. It has the "new" Halcyon extended reflector (as I put the EKPP on my new Halcyon 18), the older gland system, older switch and wiring (blue / brown.) The batt on this older light (a White one) is only lasting about 3 hours or so these days, the lid Oring is getting hairline cracky - The whole thing just needs a good going over.

Have you guys (& gals...) ever sent your older light in for a tune up? Who'd you send it to? Back to Halcyon? Howard? Barry? Uncle Wiggly?

Thanks!

Ken

It took 14 months - Sorry, but I find that hard to believe.

Sounds like a job for Howard. I'm sure you know that he does a great job. Plus...his strain relief mod is killer...but, be sure to get it on both ends.

my 10w is having the same problem only about 2" back from the gland.

I just ordered a new cable from H and once it get's here I'll spend a half hour soldering it in. S/b Back in business in no time.

After repeated emails and phone calls they said they were backed up with repairs. It was one excuse after another.

Send it to me and I'll get it back to you in 14 mos.
