So the other day while in my scuba class at school I blew my right ear drum. The hole is only about 5% of my ear drum, however this is the second time my ear has blown. The first time I was about 8 and it blew because of an infection. I had surgery on it about 11 years ago and haven't had a problem until last week. SOOO my question is once it's healed should I keep diving? I'm sure a lot of you will understand the feeling I'm about to describe, from the very first breath underwater with all my equipment I fell completely in love with scuba. Even though I have only dived a couple times I feel like I can't get enough of it, so when my doctor told me that I shouldn't dive again I actually cried! so I'm wondering if anyone has ideas on how to dive or if there is any special device I could use that would help.

Thanks for the help!!!

How about you get referred to an Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) specialist? You might try calling Divers Alert Network (DAN) and get a name of a diving ENT somewhere close. (I inserted the link.)

You really should see an ENT who specializes or at least is greatly experienced in diving.

Welcome aboard, G/D/A!
