Diving at Parrot Fish Reef, Exumas, Bahamas off the Aqua Cat, 12-19 Nov 2022.
Folks saw this in my video and have been asking "What's that?" It's about 8" square and a foot high. The video is on YouTube. (It was guarded by a Nassau Grouper)

ashes urn?
It almost looks like an exposed mooring buoy block but the size is too small.

I also thought "ashes urn".
Additionally: It looks like a beer can/soda can on top with “swim goggles” around it. If so,that might be a clue as to what/who it is . (or it might be my eyesight / imagination :) )

Yes. Here is an AI-sharpened version. Clearly goggles and a "beer" can. I'm guessing it is a makeshift memorial to someone; there might even be a plaque on the side of the block.

What did you use to sharpen this?

It could be a base for scientific monitoring equipment. We use similar looking ones here in the VI.
Do you have a reference or a picture of one?

So interesting. I've been to that site and don't remember seeing any such thing. I'll be curious to see if anyone identifies it. I bet some of the Blackbeard's or Aqua Cat crew might know, if anyone is on this forum.
