Camcorder setup info

I read somehere that you can set the Sony HC5 for outdoors when doing video and it works good when you can not access WB. I am getting all of my stuff and getting ready for a vacation in July. I will be going down to Bonaire and taking video. I am just trying to find out as much info as I can now before I go there. Thanks for any help and tips. This will be my first time doing video.
