redwing19,
Got your PM and sent you a couple PMs, or at least I think I did! Please PM me and let me know if you received them.

Thanks much,

Yes, I got them. How close is it to the Bald Ridge park boat ramp? Do you have gps coordinates of where you lost the gear? I've had searches that lasted months because people have been off by as much as 50 yards because they weren't sure exactly where they were when they lost their item. In Lake Lanier, with visibilty at 5 feet if your lucky, 50 yards is an extensive search.

Thanks for your response. Closest boat ramp is Bald Ridge Marina if you have a boat you want to use but I'll gladly take you and it's only about a quarter mile from my dock. I don't have GPS coordinates but I do have excellent physical landmarks to triangulate from and I'm very sure of the location since some of the items floated. The area is much smaller than 50 yards. Give me a call for more details and you can let me know if it's worth your time or not. Thanks.

Redwing, Cajun, and ALL: looking for help from any divers in Lake Lanier--I dropped my wallet last night right next to the sailboat I just visited Saturday 8/3. The captain says its 36 feet down, we saw exactly where it went straight down, 2 feet off the stern. Naturally, DL and cards/valuables and not being a diver just taking a shot here that somebody could get the word out if around Sunrise Cove Marina, dock I and one of the last slips, off the stern of the Obi Wan. Happy to cover expenses/reward. No cash in wallet. Other good news--the wallet is bright bright yellow--so I wouldn't lose it! Patrick7atl@gmail.com A million thanks if someone has their gear and is in the area 8/4 or soon!

As I understand it, diving is not permitted without special permission from the Marina manager. I've asked most of the marinas around Lanier for permission and they've said no. Perhaps if you tell them what happened they would give permission for me to dive for it. Just let me know and I will get it for you.
