Thanks Andrew. We are still in the very early planning stages, so when we get the details together, I can get in touch with you with some info. Thanks!

Hey Ayisha, We already have plans to stay at the Sebel Harborlights in a Harborview King Studio. We'll be there in Feb, so I can post a review and some pics when we get back. It looked great on the website. & I even spoke to a local who travels to Cairns yearly and he had great things to say about Sebel properties....

Can't wait! :D

My husband and I are also planning a trip to Sydney and Cairns in April, 2010. Any suggestions that you can give for hotels near the Circular Quay area in Sydney would be greatly appreciated as would suggestions on where to stay and what to see in and around Cairns. We are diving from the Spoilsport out of Cairns. Thanks!

Rates To Go (Last Minute Hotel Deals - Rates To Go) is a competitor to Wotif, and they seem to be affiliated with Hotel Reservations. Discount Hotels Worldwide for bookings more than 1 month out.

I have no experience with them but I've used Rates to Go a few times.

I haven't stayed anywhere in Cairns that I considered good, but then I have been trying to pay as little as possible. Beware that when some places say they are "minutes walk" from the centre of town, they mean 20+.

Rydges Tradewinds on Abbot street is where we stayed in October and it was very nice and also reasonable. Great location and tremendous view of the water.
