I just got my C8 eled a few days ago and took it out on a great nite dive yesterday. It worked very well and I had no complaints, so I took it home rinsed it off and went to sleep, when I woke up it was on, very dim, the switch was in the off position and it was on very dim with an occasional flicker. if you turned it to ON it looked like normal, but I couldnt get it to turn off, after fiddling with the switch it finally turned off, but after about 3 minutes it turned back on again, the only way to keep it off now is to unscrew the lamp, is there any way to fix the switch or should I just take it back to the store and have them take a look?

Thanks

that's weird.
uhm, it doesn't cost anything to show it to the shop, so i'd do that.
did you assemble it properly, batteries fitted properly, etc?
it sounds like there's a defect.

One of my buddies and I both have C8 eLEDs, mine was an upgrade to my original halogen double-bulb C8 and he bought his eLED C8 new. We both have problems with the on/off switch, sometimes it will still illuminate when in the off position. A little fidgetting with the switch usually sends the light off. We've never had a problem with it going from full on in the 'on' position to dim in the 'off' position - so maybe not the same problem?

I dig the light regardless :) Good price and lots and lots of light.

Yes its an absolutly excellent lite but I hate it when I wake up in the morning and the damn thing is on!

Is the inside of the light absolutely dry? Things like that happen a lot with LED headlamps when there's a little moisture inside.. just the tiniest bit of voltage across them makes them come on.

There is a little moisture inside of your switch causing a partial short. If you open the light and set it a window in the sun in a dry place, the problem will stop. Also, you could put some silicone grease on the o-rings to keep the moisture out.

Is it possible to shove a moisture muncher in there?

Dunno how small you can get moisture munchers, but the actual electronic housing is pretty tightly packed. I'm not sure how effective it would be in the battery portion of the light, but there is plenty of room there.
