Hi everyone,

I have just got my new C5060 and I've been going through the manual and playing with all the settings. There's a setting that puts the photos into 3:2 instead of 4:3, my questions is... What is the purpose of this setting and are there any advantages of using this setting?

Just looking at the pictures through the camera LCD the only thing I can see is that the top and bottom are cut off a little bit. Does this setting make a difference when the photos are developed at the store?

3:2 is the aspect ratio of the legacy 35mm format. If you're printing in 3:2 (e.g. 6" x 4") print then it might be useful for composition. Otherwise it you shoot 4:3 and print 3:2 you will simply lose pixels on the top and bottom (as you correctly observed on the LCD).

Thanks ReyeR,

Do you happen to have any photos of the set up you are using. I'm considering the PT-020 housing but I was wondering about the use of external strobes down the road and also about the lack of handles on this housing, is this going to be a pain in the butt? Are you happy with the Olympus housing or do you wish that you had purchased a different brand? (ie. Ikelite)

You will have many options with strobes down-the-line, whichever housing you choose. And the same with trays and handles.
Personally, I have a PT-015 and love it. It has fortunately been trouble free so far (2 years, 100++ dives). There have been various issues reported with the PT-020 by some users, and there are others who are very happy with it. I don't want to scare you but you shoud be aware of the existing issues: http://www.wetpixel.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-5969.phtml and http://www.digitaldiver.net/yabbse/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=7388.

Thanks for the links to those other sites.
I've decided to go with the Ikelite housing, it's only a couple of hundred dollars more, $650 Can. as compared to $380 Can. and comes with the tray and handle.

The pt 020 is available for $180 US. It's a fine housing.
