I will be finishing up my open water certification one week before I go to cabo. So I'm guessing that I won't have my card by then, will my log book be enough to prove that I passed, or will I need to have something else. Thanks Joe

My LDS issued me a temporary card - oooh oooh ooh can't resist this - a temporary diver's license :D !

Upon completion of your OW course, your instructor will issue you a temporary card (if this is a PADI course). Depending upon how your instructor submits your information it will take 2 to 6 weeks for you to receive your permanent card with the dreadful picture.

You should get a temp card and also I suggest bring your log book as a backup and obviously to record your dives.

Hope you have a great time and take care and dive safely.

Chris

NAUI and SSI also provide temporary cards. DO bring your logbook. A lot of DMs will want to see it as well. Have fun!!

It is a padi class, and I've seen my picture it does look beter than my drivers lic.

That is not saying much... I have seen 2yr olds who can create a better drawing then most drivers license pictures.
