Hi All!
I'm an experienced U/W videographer (yes, I pre-wind/rewind tape before shooting) who's just stumbled on a puzzler: My (not to be immodest) stellar footage of a 25' salp chain off the central CA coast is hampered by a continually recurring static-sounding buzz that coincides with a jittery picture.

This is a first for me, and doesn't resemble non-pre-wound tape syndrome. Every diver and his brother has suggested energy pulses from NAVY testing, but I'm giving that thought a big "nay" for now. I've hmm-ed over the possibility that the tape was exposed to a strong electro/magnetic charge, which affected only the area of tape closest to the source.

Has anyone experienced this while shooting in Hi-8? Did ya trace it?

Thanks!

Chris ~
