Hi,

I'm going to the Yucatan in June to lean to dive on the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve over the summer, while taking surveys of coral and fish, amongst other things.

The scenery, the underwater beauty, the whole experience is going to be gorgeous, so I need to buy a camera. I'm looking to get a point and shoot as I'm a complete beginner, but the ones I'm seeing online are pricey as.

My question is, is it worth waiting until I get there to get a better deal on a dive camera, or will I get a better price while I'm still in the UK before I go over?

Thanks in advance :D

You will probably not want to buy a camera in Mexico. I recently bought a Nikon P7100 / FantaSea housing package from Mozaik for about $800 USD. Excellent point-n-shoot as easy or as complex as you want, and easy to carry thru airports. But there are a lot of similar level cameras out there and folks all have their preference.
