What would be considered really cheap?
Don't know, specifically, but the place would not be on the water, would not have AC, might not have running water and would be really, really hot most of the time. The upside would be that it would be on Bonaire. You could also buy a vacant lot and camp while there, but I doubt that either option would be satisfactory to you. Provide a bit of detail and probably someone will be able to give you some numbers. 1 BR, 3 BR? on water or not? Condo or house? On site security or not? etc. etc.

A friend of mine owns a house there that he rents out for about 9 months out of the year. Small house in a middle-class neighborhood, half a mile or so inland. He says he has no problem keeping it rented out. Sure, there is crime on Bonaire, much like anywhere outside of the posh regions of the world. He has bars on the windows and all the usual security precautions.

Have a friend who purchased a small home inland (no view) and the cost was just under $130,000 (USD).
This was around 5/6 years ago.
