Alright. The instruction sheets don't say much, searching SB didn't come up with anything and the manufacturer's web site wasn't particularly informative so hopefully some SB'er will know:

Which end do you point away from you, and which end should face you? I assume the noise mostly comes out of a Dive Alert (Plus) through the horn, and not the other side with the slots which says "Hold away from ears" (which would then be the end that you actually face towards you).

Ambiguous instructions and labels are annoying. :(

TIA

I don't have one, yet. I actually came across your post searching to hopefully find one for sale in the classifieds. But, it seems logical that the sound comes out from the horn, so I would think you would point that part away from you, in the direction of the boat, etc. you want to hear it. I think you want to fire it off as far away from your ears as possible.

The horn should be facing in the direction you wish project the most sound. In case you may have missed it they also suggest that you have your head below water when you sound the surface horn (referring to the above water signal not the H2O portion of the Dive Alert Plus.

Are you looking for a DA plus for a standard inflator?
If so I PM, I got one for sale.

Wys.

wonder what would happen if you hooked it up to a HP hose . . .

I think that just might rip the space-time continuum a new one.

Well that could be cool too . . .
