What little I know is through this source: Berita Kawanua - Keanehan Saat Turis Singapura Meninggal di Bunaken

The victim was a Singapore born, Australian resident female diver, Hafidzah Hassan.

Translated loosely from the news article, based on the guide's account, they were surfacing together after about an hour dive, presumably at safety stop. At 5 meters, the guide heard a female crying so he checked on victim but she signaled she was ok.

At the surface, he saw her having trouble with her breathing as if she was not getting air. He pulled her up on the boat and administered oxygen. Unfortunately, when they tried to start the engine, it did not work so that got help from a passing speed boat, Raja Laut. At this stage, victim has lost consciousness. She passed away at the water off Tanjung Pisok while on the way to the hospital.

Fendy, the guide was from Minahasa Lagon, mentioned that the victim had just arrived two days earlier and this was her second dive. She had shown some apprehensions before the dive about currents but they were diving in areas with little current.
