That net is not actually a "bully net" even though it is labeled as such. A bully net has a 90 degree bend. I googled for a picture and this website sells bully nets: Blue Crab Assassinator

You are 100% corect, the net in the previous post is not - thanks for the link :D

I'd be currious to hear from folks who have actually bully netted, from the surface, at night - I could be wrong but I'm sure its more difficult than it looks.

Anybody actually done it?

I've got coworkers who have done it and from their accounts it is really quite easy. you put the net down on top of them and then they swim into the netting.

It is not hard at all. The net is about 18" - 24" round with a deep 24" net attached to a long 8' handle. You do need an underwater light attached to a pole.

The light is a DIY just need a standard blub, socket, wire, pole, 12v battery.

Have fun and bring lots of beer..

Thank you - gotta try it one of these days

That lobster net on the Blue Crab Assassinator website would be easy to use from a boat - just net them and reverse the net on the deck, but trying to wrestle a lobster out of all that netting would be a mess underwater. Still easier to just tickle and grab 'em. Use a looper if you gotta.
I will --->never<--- go and just shove my whole arm up to the shoulder into a hole for any lobster. I'm amazed everytime I see that, but then those lobster lunatics who do it get a special gleam in their insane eyes when they're on the hunt.
