Hello everyone. I am getting ready to build my own compressor filtering system. This will most likely be 3 consecutive filter stacks, filled with the proper filtering media. But before the filter stack I am going to have a water separator.

Has anyone built their own water separator from stainless pipe? How do the internals look like? Is it simply a inlet that runs through some sort of porous filtering media which allows the water to condense and then drip to the bottom of the canister? Or is it more complex than that?

Any information would be greatly appreciated

I have attached an image of my compressor Just for fun. (yes I know there is already a water separator on my compressor, but would like to add another to my filter stack setup so it can be used with any compressor.)

Thanks!
