I am planning a buddy trip for Sept/Oct leaving the women and kids at home and hanging out with my bros. Some of us are single and some are not so time, distance and cost are all factors especially for the married guys. I am looking for an all inclusive that offers decent diving and maybe some other activity like fishing or golf for the non divers. I am thinking that a five day package would work for the married fellas so an upgrade to a week for the singles would be good. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

#1... Sept/Oct is the heart of hurricane season. Expect some rain anywhere you go in the Caribbean, maybe only a little each day or maybe alot more. No way to predict. Deals are available though as this is the risky time to book vacations.

A great place that I always recommend for divers and non-divers on the same trip: Belize. Lots of topside activities like jungle tours, Mayan ruin tours, ziplines, cave tubing.... and there is good diving too for the divers. Look at Ambergris Caye:
www.ambergriscaye.com
No real all-inclusives there but restaurants are walking distance. There are also lots of dive ops to pick from. Here are a few:
Aqua Dives Belize, The Ultimate Dive Center, Ambergris Caye!
Ambergris Divers Belize:::Come Immerse Yoursel In Our World.

another couple of options, if you want an all-inclusive is:
Cozumel Scuba Diving at Scuba Club Cozumel Dive Resort and Scuba Cozumel Dive Shop
Fantasy Island Beach Resort, Dive & Marina

Try San Andres Island , there are a ton of AI resorts in town, with nightlife, and other activities, no golfing yet.
Flights from Miami are reasonable in September, Aug is still season and prices are a bit higher.

Thanks for your time and advice. I'm looking forward to eventually visiting all of these spots. Right now it looks like cozumel might be the best spot for a buddy trip as there is plenty to do there diver and non diver alike. The only hard part is getting everyone on the same sheet of music. It's no fun being the organizer.

LOL..... that is why my nickname is the "cat herder". Getting a group of friends to agree on anything is like herding cats!
