After 30 years of diving 99% of my Buddy's have been men, it is only in the past couple of years that I have had the pleasure of diving with women AND ITS GREAT. Easy to get along with no macho crap take the dive seriously but not them selfs.
How do others feel about buddy pairing.
DUCKING

I'm not so keen on the girls as I am the guys...LOL.

I've dove with equally talented men and women. The one thing I do recognize is that I know more men than women wearing doubles or have redundant air supplies.

This again could be a result of where I am diving and the availability of dive buddies.

I know that chickdiver could put any one of us women to shame. You should see her gear list....it makes me drool.

It's always fun to be with girls :)

As long as you're wife doesn't catch you.

MIKE are you married ? if so whats it worth not to bring your post to her attention.

Yes I'm married but my wife would just laugh at the post. I've been an instructor for a while and I dive with lots of girls.

Besides...I'm a mod and I could just delete the post if I had to. LOL

Well I prefer to dive with men, actually thats all I have been given the opportunity to dive with. Plus it's nice to dominate them. A bat of the eye, a little slap on the wet suit. Can you carry my tanks? NOT.

When I first came to the US and meet my first emancipated woman it went something like this,
Friday night out to dinner I opened the door for her and she asked "why did you do that I have two perfectly good hands"
Saturday after the dive I took my gear to the car about 300 yds then went back to wait for her at the changing rooms, as we were walking back she says " you could at least carry some of my gear" and I said why would I do that you have two perfectly good hands.

I have done diving with both men and women.
and I find there is no difference between to two,
I would have to say. it is more a question on the mind set of the buddy in question.

In the short time I have been diving about a year and a half
and just over 40 dives.

I have only meet two divers I would not dive with again.
One is very rough with the Marine Life ( I actually watched him pull a young Red Octo. out of its den. )
the other is the biggest damn Ass I have ever seen every other word starts with F
and only has 4 letters,
both do have one thing in common
they will not even try to maintain neutral bouncy and could care less about any kind of dive etiquette.

I dive with a lot of different divers, and ... well ... they're all different ... ;)

Some of my women dive buddies do a regular Tuesday night "chick dive" ... sometimes they let me be an honorary "chick" for the evening so I can accompany them. It's most enjoyable ...
