My family is heading to Brockville for the first time for a wedding on the 10th of Oct. I've heard it's some of the best diving around and since it takes about four to five hours to get there I would like to get in a dive or two that weekend.
My sister's condo overlooks Centeen Park on Water st. and she says she sees allot of divers most days right out her window. What's there?
Any suggestions of some sites (or charters) and info. of some good places to stay and eat would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Steve

I dove with ABUCS and they showed us a pretty good time. The diving was rather good and we dove several wrecks to include: Keystorm, America, Daryaw, Gaskin, L. Parson, Muscalonge, and Rothesay (shore dive). Diving was not that difficult, vis was OK, and temps were in the 60's. The Daryaw is the exception if you are a new diver. There is a fair bit of current to content with but the wreck has plenty of lines to pull oneself along. I liked the Keystorm the best. Check out this site for some pics/info:

Yep ... what ^^^^ he said... :)

Helen at Abuc's is good and right next to / across from Centeen Park.

Beyond that there are several operators out of Caigers Resort as well, just several klicks west from Brockville. And while you're in the area... you can't miss a visit to Dive Tech... :D

I dont know about ABUCS but I've been diving for several year there with Wayne Green at Thousand Island Pleasure Diving

Thousand Islands Scuba Diving Tours Rockport Brockville Kingston

He departs either from the Caiger's or in Brockville. We were always satisfied with the service.

I agree that the Keystorm is a very nice wreck to dive. You can do a nice multilevel dive on it.

Oh, and dont forget your passport as some of the wrecks (like the Keystorm) are on the US side and you'll need to visit the US custom service

Ditto on Wayne Green's charter operations. Excellent, safety-oriented service.

I also highly recommend Wayne Green & Thousand Island Pleasure Diving or Tom Scott at Under Where? Dive Charters

Just came back from the area: river temperature 66 F, vis kinda murky 10-20+ feet depending on the site.

Centeen Park is a popular training site - not much to see there but if you are looking to practice skills or just get a quick dive in, its an easy shore entry.

there are other easy shore dives you can do too, e.g.:

Rothesay (near Prescott)
Rothesay

Conestoga (in Cardinal)
Conestoga

there is also the scuba park in the town of Prescott that has some stuff sunk and guidelines in a circuit.

have fun!

We dive from shore at Centeen Park quite often, if you want to do a shore dive. If you are diving single tanks, you can explore around Centeen Park. If you are wearing doubles, it is possible to swim out to the Gaskin.

Wayne Green has great charters, as does Jeff Pauze, at Rockport Dive Centre.

Have fun! :)
