Planning our third trip to Bonaire.
We usually go with just the adults and rent an apt. or house, but are thinking about bringing kids (ranging from 3 to 5) with us. Any place seem like a better place than others for this? I'm not particularly fond of Buddy's if that helps. The idea would be that several adult can be diving while 1 or 2 stay back with the kids and then switch out. Any suggestions welcome. Just trying to keep diving..................

Plaza Resort has a great kids program:D

We flew down on the Continental "red eye" out of Houston. Flights were both fine (early), but long layover in Houston.

We rented a truck from AB...Nice truck, good condition. They do inspect CAREFULLY, and we had the insurance.

We stayed at the Bellafonte. Good service, clean, nice units. Maid service was a plus and the reef behind the condos we pretty good.

Great restaurants...everywhere
Lunch - Eli Deli on the round about + (home made ice cream), RumRunners and the Pizza Temple only OK, Appetite +

Dinners were consistently outstanding: It Rains Fishes +++, Bistro de Paris +++, Capriccio Ristorante +++, Casablanca - only OK pass on it,La Barca Bar Restaurant +, Mona Lisa +

Now to the biggest disappointment - the dive operator - DIVE FRIENDS. They lived up to their name...i.e. very friendly, but always late, crowded boats and guides that provided a safe environment but did not really find much! Sad to say that I would not use them again.

The Island.... The reefs were nice, we saw a few interesting things, but it is a VERY long trip from the west coast...I liked the Dutch atmosphere but I will not be returning anytime in the future.

Sorry, but this does not have anything to do with kids on Bonaire either.

But to answer your question, looking at the title of his post, my guess is he thought he was creating a new thread but posted under this thread by accident.

Looks like an innocent mistake to me.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I did not intend to post here...sorry for the confusion. I hope the information was beneficial to you.

Keesmon,

There are many different places to stay, you just need to ask the resort, what they have available for kids. Of course a pool is great. Plaza does have a great kids program. Also, if you decide on a house, or smaller property there are other options for the kids. We get kids often here and they LOVE the butterfly farm and the donkey sanctuary. The heat here does take a toll on the little ones, and they are usually wiped out from one "excursion" a day. From my experience, an hour or so in a pool, then lunch and a nap. I personally wouldn't plan more than more than one thing for them a day. Also don't forget a good sunscreen (50 at least) and a good skeeter repellent. For some reason, the skeeters here love kids, even if they are not "heavy", especially the no seeums...

Hope this helps.

Liz

You might want to try looking at Divi. They have some actual beach areas within the property. They are close to the south end of town so walking expeditions are an option.

I haven't stayed there, yet, but did a walk through and intro visit with my local LDS. It was a good looking property, with amenities for children.

I truly feel any condo property is kid friendly on Bonaire. There are several good babysitters on island and their prices are very affordable. Windsurfing is a must for the kids and Lac Bay is perfect for all ages. When was the last time folks had their kids at Plaza? Just curious..

Thanks Phelana. In a year or two I will actually fly my Mom in from The Netherlands to stay with us while we dive. Just need to get the kids ocean ready (they are 2 and 4 now) before I leave them alone with her
