Almost just as bad..... Thinsulate or Polartec?

I have been reading the archives but still have not figured out the best heat/bulk ratio.
I want to wear as little as possible (ie...less bulk equals less lead) but still keep the boys from disappearing.

Figuring out 15 oz-16oz versus 300gr-400gr versus 1/8 to 1/4 inch is like comparing mattresses one store from another.
I know everyones idea of warm is a little different but if they can tell you the temp rating on a sleeping bag then they should be able to do the same for underwear.

Do you like Thinsulate or polartec?
What weight or thickness do you use?
What temperature range do you use it in?
Construction material of your Drysuit.

Thinsulate
200g. and a 100g. vest when it gets colder.
Great lakes. Butt freezing cold.
Trilam.
