get a computer. understanding the tables is obviously important. however, owning and using a computer does not mean you don't. unless you go tech i don't see why you would want to forego the convenience of a computer. you get more bottom time on multilevel dives and that counts for a lot if you are spending your hard earned $$$ on a diving trip. if you feel like practicing your table skills, go over your profile in the evening after your dives and calculate in which group the tables would have put you. also, it is always good practice to record max depth and time after every dive so that in case your computer dies you can continue diving after calculating your group in the tables.
