Hi! Looking for some helpful info about lodging and dive ops in Boracay. Will be there either the 2nd or 3rd week of January. Looking for moderately priced lodgings, not a lot of cash since I'm still a student. Probably a 2-3 night stay. Is this high season for the island?

Also, looking for any info about good dive ops. I know that Boracay is not considered one of the best diving the country has to offer but I'm the only diver in the group who's going there so I have no choice. What are the average prices for the dive trips there anyway? Thanks for all the help.

If you have any interest at all in wreck diving, Coron offers some of the finest wreck diving in the Philippines. See the Lonely Planet Guide to Diving in the Philippines for a good listing.

You can fly from Manila to Caticlan Airport, Borocay on SeAir, very reasonably (P2400, about US$45). Otherwise it is a long bus ride. A group of us may be going in April, stay tuned.

If you are not interested in wrecks, there are better places to go in PI. See this board.

I re read your post so I had to rewrite mine, check out BoracayDive Lodge, you will love the Island but the diving is not to good. We stayed at Willy's Beach resort, but you can find places to stay real cheap once you get to the Island. The food is great anywhere you go on the Island. Not surre how cheap you want to go but Willy's was nice and on the affordable end compared to some of the other places on the Island.
