Ciao- does anyone have a home remedy solution for toenail fungus?

I tend to lose a toenail every couple of years or so and for a few weeks it gets really painful.

Thanks

Per Dr. Medford, one of our fellows, acid or alkali soaks may be beneficial but the only real cure is a systemic antifungal.

For prevention, you might consider sanitizing your booties with a quaternary ammonium chloride sanitizer like Enviroguard 64 or similar (not a plug, but Enviroguard is what we use to sanitize our oxygen head tents and associated apparatus and we're happy with it). You could also dry your feet thoroughly between dives and use an antifungal powder on them, and wear open-toed shoes to help keep them dry between dives.

Best regards,
DDM
