If anyone has been to Bonaire recently I would appreciate it if you could tell me the water temperature at depth. I would like to know what wetsuit to take when I go July 11. Thanks for the help!

We have been going to Bonaire in July for the last several years and the water temp is usually 80 to 82 degrees. Wetsuit decisions are usually a matter of personal preference, how many dives you do each day and how long you dive. I do multiple long dives over many days and get cold easily so wear a 3m with a beanie. At other times of the year I add other layers in Bonaire. Both my husband and I prefer full wetsuits because of the chance of a fall during entry or exit when shore diving.

It's 80 +/- 2 deg all year long. I dive a fleece lined skill all year....but one of my buddies dives a full 5mm and hood. How much you need depends a lot on you. If for no other reason, a full length wetsuit of some thickness is a good idea for sun protection and the occasional scrap on the coral.

I'm from Idaho and a little more use to colder water temps. I took a full dive skin and it never left my suitcase. I only wore a 2mm shorty and SS 2mm shirt. 3 dives/day. I did get a slight chill at the end of one night dive, 3rd dive of the day.
The water temp. was consistently 80* at depth, with some surface temps showing 82*. (That was this April)

I am giggling at how different we all are! I am from the northeast (aka cold and dark) and last April when I was in Bonaire I wore my 3m full and a .5 long sleeve skin to start and added a 3m hooded vest by mid week because I was cold. I am looking forward to not wearing the vest when I get there in July but you can bet it will be available. BTW, each of the last three Julys there have been some very cold thermoclines at around 70 feet.

I'm on Bonaire as I write this and yesterday the water was 80 degrees. I brought my 3mm full with a 3mm vest for layering later in the trip. I normally wear a 5mm full in 80 degree water, but with the air temperature close to 90 degrees, I figured I'd warm up sufficiently between dives.

Clearly your cold tolerance may be vastly different, so adjust accordingly.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question about current water temp in Bonaire. I now have the information I needed to figure out which wetsuit to take. I really appreciate the help!
