HI! I'm new to dive board, but have been looking at most everything posted about Bonaire. I'd like to go there in March or Aug, with one non-diving husband, and 13 yr old daughter. Is there any reason, crime related or otherwise why it wouldn't be wise to take our daughter there? Also, any good suggestions on where to stay; we don't drink/or do night life. Thanks.

Wish I'd known sooner... our March trip is full - included are several in the 11-15 year old age group.
In more direct answer to your question, no, there are no more concerns on Bonaire than anywhere else for a 13 year old girl. Watch her like a hawk!
We like Buddy's and Lion's Dive.

um, she will be increadibly board. I went when I was 7. That was 8 years ago, and I dont know how much the island has changed, but when i went, there wasnt a whole lot to do there.

There isn't really all that much for non-divers to do there. There are very few beaches, and no night life to speak of. That being said, there's fantastic snorkling.

As for crime, its very low. The only real crime usually is dive vehicles being broken in to.
