I am going to Bonaire for the first time in February and was wondering if there is any publication that has maps of the reefs similar to the "Cozumel dive guide & log book"? :06: With so much do-it-yourself shore diving, it seems like it would be helpful.

I looked for something similar last summer with no luck. I bought this book on Amazon as it seemed to be the best of the bunch, although it doesn't have reef maps:

Diving Bonaire (Aqua Quest Diving Series)
by George Lewbel, Larry Martin

It's a good book, but dated. It was originally published in 1991 and hasn't really been updated much since. Some of Bonaire was changed/damaged in 1999 by Hurricane Lenny but it wasn't in the book. Although we generally found it to be accurate overall in describing the majority of the divesites.

There's a book sold at the diveshops on Bonaire called Shore Diving Made Easy by Armacost. I don't know if it has any reef maps. People on bonairetalk say it's the one to get. You can also buy it through the Bonaire Reporter website: http://www.bonairereporter.com/products.htm

I used my book and the website below to get a fairly good idea of what to expect before we went there.

PM me if I can answer any questions,

Thanks for the detailed and helpful information. I am ordering the "Bonaire Diving Made Easy" book online. I knew someone would be more than helpful on this board.
