We’ll be headed out to Bonaire (Buddy Dive) for our first time on the island at the end of November and the beginning of December. How are the conditions? We heard the Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease was still really bad, and the warm weather wasn’t helping the coral either. Supposedly, there was also a lot of rain recently so visibility was getting impacted by the runoff. Is it the same on the more remote sites? We’re still excited of course, and hoping for the best. Any recommendations on sites for those who have been there recently? If anyone is coming later in December, ask us later if you want any updates.

Also, if any divers are looking for buddies, let us know and we’ll show you the sites we have planned so far. Do people still do WhatsApp or other various “dive buddy” boards? I think Buddy has one on site as well. We’re being flexible of course due to the weather, coral issues etc.

We were there in August and it was great. We dove two sites on the southwest coast, Donkey Beach and Margate Bay. We wanted to go back to Salt Pier but a ship was docked. Both sites were spectacular, full of life and color. We saw our first ever squid at Donkey Beach, and the largest green moray eel we've found too. Already have another week on the books for February!
