Snowbear:
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to think about how I ultimately want it to look. For now I'll just use the cheap stickies.... I need to get some for the boat registration # anyway.

I had vinyl letters cut in a semi cursive font and on a upward slant of declining size going from just over 6 inches down to about 4 inches. Mine are navy blue and it cost 25.00. I installed them on the LH transom of my Boston Whaler Nantucket 190.

You can get boat lettering custom cut quite inexpensively. Mine
was done by some online outfit in BC. $10 for the lettering, $10
for shipping (it was international). About five days. It will look
much better than the hardware store stuff. They can also do the
your registration numbers, and they will be STRAIGHT and correctly
spaced. MagicBrsh@aol.com does a lot of work for the whaler
folks on continuouswave.com and is authorized by whaler to
do replacement whaler decals once you get it all rubbed out.

Now, if you are going to RENAME the boat, you gotta do the
right ceremony or Neptune will make you regret it:
