Thinking of splitting up our trip between both islands. Is there a boat going between the two?

I've only been to Brac once, buy can't you see LC from Brac? Don't the ops sometimes leave from B and dive around LC? Maybe they would drop you off? :dontknow:

Hmmm. So... we'd have to take 18+ hours off diving before making this flight? They must keep it at what? 500' elevation?

Thanks everyone. Just booked flights (including inter-island via Cayman Airways).

Also - does Cayman air typically wait if our flight from the US is delayed into Grand Cayman?

I can't answer your question (I'd have to say no IMO).

On a side note they had to ground the otters sept 3-? Due to corrosion. The 6am 737 to GCM was late as they had to fly people in from LC by helicopter - took three trips!

Otters are back in service. Took them between GC & LC week of 9/16.

The Little Cayman airport is less that 20 miles from Cayman Brac Airport so you will not be gettting much altitude. You may check with them to see what the max altitude they reach between the Islands is. You maybe ok without such a long surface interval. If you have any concerns about the altitude, I would call DAN and see if you have any concerns.

From my experience they do not hold the flights between islands for late arriving US flights. I have had to stay in GC a couple of times because of late flights. If you are flying in on Cayman Air and they are late then Cayman Air will cover your stay in GC from the experiences I have had.

Thanks. I think we'll just go conservative, and keep at least 18 hours surface interval, and keep fairly shallow profile for the last day.

This will be our first trip to the Caymans! :D
