I'd go with Roberta's Eco-Dive cozumel, aka scubashack near La Ceiba. Really great dive op; small fast boats, excellent dive masters. I can't say enough good things about them.

I have read that time is of the essense and am scrambling to find a dive shop that YOU GUYS recomend, I am AOW and looking to get the full experiance. Quality dive is my first priority and cost second. Thanks

Michael,

If you want to get out there and dive and get back in then go with one of the operators that run a fast boat. On the other hand, I have to agree with one of the suggestions Parrotheaddiver made....Careyitos Advanced divers.....Leave from La Caleta, dive your own limit/profile, boat will pick you up. The on board lunch they prepare is fantastic. However, be prepared to have a full day of fun as they return about 2:30P-3:00PM. (Due to longer dives they make)

Rergards,

I just got back from Cozumel last night. :-( We used Dive with Martin (www.divewithmartin.com) and found that they were great. You get a free night dive with a package of 3 days or more. With 5, they also throw in a free video of one of your dives. The boats are fast and have a max of 8 divers. We really enjoyed David, Pablo and Orlando as DMs. For 6 days for two people and 2 tank divesw, with the freebies it was $564. Pretty good deal. The only caution is that you have to be proactive with scheduling the night dive and video as they will only do them with 4 or more divers on a package. If you bug them, though, no problem.

They pick up at 7:30 a.m. and we were back by about 12:00 or 12:30 everyday. Hope this helps.

I highly recommend Cozumel Equalizers for getting max bottom times and great experiences with smaller fast boats. Henry the DM is top notch and you get long bottom times with multi-level computer dives and he points out mucho aquatic life big and small.

another vote for Aldora!

WWW.bottomtimedivers.net raul the owner/divmaster left bluextsea and is on his own now. He had 12 years with bluebubble before going to bluextsea. He has small fast boat 6 divers max. Dive your computer or 700psi. He is the divemaster you want if you enjoy going slow and finding the little critters. I was just down last week and every dive was over an hour except devils throat 130'. That dive was only 55 min. If you take it slow and let the current take you you see alot more than swimming back and forth.

Raul is great and I was sorry to lose him and I wish him all the success in the world! He is an excellent divemaster as well.

However, just to clarify, he is not the same Raul most BXTS divers know. Raul with Bottom Time divers worked for me for a couple of months. Raul Romero instructor/divemaster worked for me over two years and has recently moved to NYC with his wife. He will be here for the entire months of February and possibly into March, and will be working with us while here.

My new full-time DM is Pedro Pablo, who is also very good and previously worked with Raul at Blue Bubble for over 10 years. Jaime, Javier, and Manolo still fill in when needed.

Christi:

I wondered which Raul it was. I knew you had two, but I only had met the first one.

He certainly was the best guide we've ever had. That is sad, but hopefully he's happy with his move, and it looks like he's got the best of both worlds, as he's still with you a few months of the year.

It's amazing to see just how well your business has done over the last couple of years. We are happy for you!

Steve
