RonFrank:
Discovery channel. This is a great series....

That's kind of a scary. I am watching it now and was comtemplating posting a thread about it, but I got distracted. I bought the series on dvd awhile but haven't yet watched it, so I got interested in it.

The dvd is 8 one hour episodes, and they are currently on number 3 now if anyone is interested. First was "Tides of the Sea" dealing mainly with tides and how they affected sea/water life. The second was the "Frozen Sea" dealing with the arctic and other frozen areas. Now we're on the "Deep Education" one, talking about all the weird and cool stuff miles down.

EDIT: According to my sattelite on-screen guide, they're going to repeat those above three episodes starting at 11pm EST.

hot darn it... found out about it too late

Can't remember which episodes, but the ones with sun fish laying flat for sea gulls to pick parasites off its body, orcas having fun with a baby seal, and coral spawning are really amazing. The last episode I think also shows in great length how the filming crews went into great length in making the whole series. Don't miss that one.

The DVD's are definitely worth keeping for anyone who is into natural history of the sea. I got mine right after they aired the series on local TV. Two thumbs up from me .

I like the bubbler crabs in the Bay of Fundy.
