Had the opportunity to test the 5000 out at Lake Rawlins, Virgina and was really amazed at the performance. It does take both hands to operate but the 3 speeds you get by operating the left control is truly an advantage. The price is still a bit high and not so sure how you would change out the battery, but then again Lithiums last a long time. Got full performance for over an hour at around 30ft. This thing is fast. I have the Seadoos which can be operated by just the right hand, leaving the other free for adjustments - yet by adding a tether to the Bladefish you can optimize your dive and be able to do photography and so on. The Bladefish is negative in freshwater and does not allow for altering the buoyancy, which is only a minor thing if your skills are even basically good. I am sold on it.
