Hey,

My dad and I are are planning a blackbeard's trip Oct. 6th thru 10th. He has been on one before and really enjoyed it. I on the other hand have not, but am real excited about it. Pretty much just wondering if anyone else is planning for those dates and if you've been before if you have any advice. Thanks

Have a great time, I went a few monts ago and it was amazing. I hope to do it again real soom

I did Blackbeard's in early October a couple of years ago and loved it. Of course, I loved the open water crossing but you'll get an extra dive on your trip. You'll have a great time. Just don't expect Holiday Inn, but you probably know that. Search on here for a list packing items. There are some very good lists. Main thing is to take very little in clothing and pack nothing extra.

If you have question, ask 'em here!

I'm a little jealous, you're going to have a great time!

Done a couple of weekend trips with BB.

Great diving. They don't go down to Bimini much on the weekend trips though. They say they do but I have done two weekends since the move to Freeport and the story is always the same. "Weather permitting" But basically its up to the Captain and the crew and too do that over night run (6hrs) 2x in 4 days is alot on the crew.

On the other hand we got out to the Weat end of Grand Bahamas last time and man that was some great diving. We did one wreck in the middle of the ocean. Couldn't see land in any diction except for a small isand. 25ft of water and man tons of life....really amazing dive both during the day and at night.

Things to bing....

Your own mug, plastic with some capacity...the ones they give you are small.

Heavyduty clips (woodworking ones) for you towels incase the wind picks up.

A t-shirt for every day and about 3 or 4 bathing suits is about all you need, plus one out fit for port night....also don't forget a hoodie or sweat with a hood...can get cold at night esp in Oct.

You will basically wet for most of the day so you basically live in your swim suit. (Hence the number you need, I hate wet trunks ;)

and then the normal stuff, sun block, ect.

BB is an amazing value....a little cramped with 12 people and there is always that one person that you just may stab cause they......but its fun to find out that your not the only one half way thru the trip, then make jokes about them behind their backs for the next couple of days .....

Just updating.....There is now 3 other people going on the trip that I know. They are friends of the family. All of them are experienced divers. Anyone else planning on going Oct. 6 thru 10th?

Just got back off my trip Fri. It was wonderful! There were only 9 passengers (8 divers & 1 non- diver) on our trip, so we had a little room to spread out a bit. I couldn't have asked for better weather. It was pouring when we left port & stopped just before our first dive. It didn't rain again until Fri. when we were packing up to leave. I made 19 of the possible 20 dives available (had to sit out the last dive because of no fly time limits). There were a few times when I wondered if I was going to have the energy to do those 4th dives of the day. I'm glad I did, because I was well rewarded by the variety of life on the night dives. The lobster hunting was kind of fun also (even though I never caught a thing, it was fun trying). Captain Ron & the crew were outstanding & the food was superb. The shark feeding dive was over the top, very cool to say the least. The only thing I'd warn you about is the port night. I'm not a drinker, but most everyone else on the boat was & they did their best at it. To say the least, they paid for it the next morning on the first dive. One guy was even tossing his cookies during the dive. Anyway, I can garauntee that you'll like it, if you like adventure. I'll be back for another cruise for sure!
