Hey all,

Some of you may have heard by now, but the entire state of Quintana Roo is hopefully moving to be single-use plastic-free in 2019. *fingers crossed* This was great timing for us, as recently I have started a biodegradable distribution company on the island. Our goal is to eliminate the use of single-use plastics and transition to bio-friendly products made from avocado seeds, sugarcane, corn, etc. A lot of our products are out there already, most popular among them are the to-go boxes you'll start seeing from your favorite restaurants. Made from sugarcane, our to-go boxes are completely gone in 200 days. A close second is our to-go drinking cups made from corn starch, and of course drinking straws made from the avocado seeds.

We are doing our best to get these to EVERY restaurant of Cozumel, but if you notice we are missing your favorite spot do let us know - or better yet let the owner know there are better alternatives! There is no excuse for any bar or restaurant to serve you food or drink using plastic any longer.

For the full details of our endeavors I'll point you to our official press release - Riviera Maya going plastic free – Isla Bio ensures Cozumel is ready - Reuters

I'm not done yet, either. I have more exciting projects in the works that I can't wait to share :)
