Quoting a msg to my mom from our friend Roberto (of Roberto's Black Coral shop) on Cozumel:

DEAR BARBARA:
I PRAY THE STORM BILL WAS OF NO HARM TO YOU OR YOURS. IT WENT THRU HERE FIRST AND WE GOT MORE RAIN IN ONE DAY (975 mm.) THAN WE GET IN ONE YEAR.

HIC ET NUNC, TAKE CARE.
ROBERTO

What happened to Robertos email and web site?

Gordon,

Was this e-mail sent recently? I don't know what he is referring to. We have had virtually no rain here. We had our first thunderstorm in weeks the other night, but the streets did not flood, no power outages, just some rain.

Yeah, that email from Roberto was referring to Hurricane Bill.

So does anyone know if the store is still there? Seems like a bad idea to let your web site go, as well as your email when they is the easiest and cheapest way for your customers to communicate with you when they have left the country.

Yeah, that email from Roberto was referring to Hurricane Bill.

I don't remember that one at all and I was definitely here. Our worst storm in the past few years has been Isadore and Ivan...and neither ended up being all that bad.

Bill was just a tropical depression when it crossed the Yucatan near Cozumel, but it turned into a hurricane in the Gulf.

So, do you know Roberto? Is there some change in his business that you know of? His is the shop under Prima; we've been friends with him for many years.

I don't know him personally, but I know his shop and he still appears to be doing very well.
