Hello

I dove Big Bay Point over the weekend. The water was great 48 vis a good 40'. I noticed the town ship has done some Reno work on the dock by adding 3 new ladders and placed two large boulders across the road so that cars can no longer drive up onto the dock see photos attached.

Cheers

There were also couple new garbage cans in place so I could pick up garbage left by others. If I didn't do it I bet divers would be blamed for it.

This is true I find myself picking up garbage at Big Bay Point even if it isn't mind just to keep the area clean and residence happy. There are allot of families from the city now that frequently visit this spot through out the summer and they just don't get it, I've seen them just get up and drive away leaving there Tim Horton cups and Subway sandwich wrappers on the dock it reminds me of the Toronto beached after a long weekend. If we all want to keep using this area we need to marshal it in what ever way we can. Diving instructors and dive Masters you need to inform students new to this area that yelling from the end of the dock back to the car aea at 8 in the mornig for more weight isn't gong to cut it. as it echoes down the bay.

My son and I were there yesterday!

I dove wet and was really comfortable. The new ladder is a nice touch!

Does anybody have the LAT/LON for BBP? I have been there but have no idea how to get back ......sorry for the hijack.

Yes, I have been noticing garbage there as a huge problem... recently i took home a large bag of garbage, including a piece of vinyl siding!! Last week, I noticed someone was nice enough to leave a microwave in the parking lot... Be strange if someone started to build a kitchen at 95'!

Then it would look like Cedar Hill :D

My son and I will be back up there on Sunday. I think I'll bring a bag and pick up some garbage as well..."community-minded surface interval"!
