Howdy all!

I was hoping some of you folks who have done liveaboards in the Caribbean could give me a little input. I am wanting to do a liveaboard in the Caribbean and was wondering what folks feel would be the primo time to go. I know the late summer and fall could mean potential hurricanes but generally that doesn't stop me. I also know that in our winter months, even as far south as the Caribbean can get some cooler weather. So I was thinking maybe the late May, June, and early July time frame. Didn't know if in general the seas are calmer and the vis better during that time.

Any thoughts?

P.S. I am potentially looking at getting a group together to do the Aquacat in that time frame for 2012 as my trips are all booked for this year.

I'm going to agree with you here, you've already zeroed in in the 'primo' Caribbean seasonal timeframe, early enough to dodge the hurricane season, late enough to allow the seas to warm up to 'tropical' temps and to avoid an "El Norte" cold front.

Thanks. That's kinda what I was thinking but just don't have the experience of actually doing one then. I've been on the phone since I posted this and for the price I think we can do it for, I already have several folks interested. :D

We've done LOB's in the Caribbean from as early as May to as late as September and have always had great weather and great diving, however we always check for the water temp before we leave and pack for exposure accordingly. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I actually have already booked the Aquacat for the week of the 4th of July for 2012. I booked the entire boat and only wish it was this year!
