Colombia Shallows, hands down. It's a huge reef with large coral formations on a flat bottom. The joke is that if you want to go deeper than 30' you'll have to bring a shovel, so on a sunny day with good viz the light is fantastic. Every time I have gone there the current has been slow to nonexistent. Some of the coral heads there reach within 8' or so of the surface, and unlike most of the reefs on the southern half of the island it was practically untouched by Hurricane Wilma.I am looking for suggestions for the best 2nd dive sites in Cozumel. Colombia Shallows, hands down.
I have never dived the Keys; are you saying that I could have the same quality of dive there as on Colombia Shallows? That would be news to me.LOL...that would get you tossed off our boat followed by "if I wanted that kind of dive I'd go to the Keys." j/k It's a nice dive. We would more likely do Punta Tunich or Cedral. All boats are different. Main thing is to relax and enjoy. To the OP, if you don't know the sites yourself go where the boat (and other Coz divers) takes you. You'll have fun.
Yucab...the last half of Yuca (?)...
Thank you. Never heard that one quite well enough.Yucab
