You often hear the words get the best price for a scuba class.
Ok what does this mean. Best Price?
To some it means the lowest price to others it means the best value for the dollar.
First of all I think that should anyone want to take a scuba course or any course for that matter that they should be asking questions. Questions like:
What is included in the cost?
How many hours of instruction is the course?
Where are the test dive locations?
Who will be instructing me?
How long have they been instructing?
What other classes do they instruct?
What references do the instructors have and can I talk to them?
What is expected of me to be a safer diver?
What is the standard levels that will be expected for the course?
What is the teaching schedule and is it flexible?
What are the administrative procedures required to take the class? (read medical and guardian signatures here)
I am sure there is more that you can think of to ask but all to often I hear the "Best Cost". to me this is the best value for the dollar. The instructor should be willing to put the time into the student and not be there just to crank out c-cards and meet a LDS's demand.
Shopper beware, sadly how true a statement this is.
